Printfest launch 15th May

Hello people of the Internet.

Me, the lovely Alex Ware, and with amazing support from the  Blackburn Is Open team… Have organised Blackburn’s first Printfest! The launch exhibtion is this Friday the 15th. And I want to tell you a bit more about it…

So here’s the low down. We will open the exhibtion with over 40 printmakers from Blackburn and beyond. With lots of support from Blackburn’s Uni/college tutors and students exhibiting awesome work before their very own end of year shows in a couple of weeks time.

The night will start at 6:30 with music from Manchester based band Glocks, Jack Charsleworth, Olivia Blackledge, Olly Taylor, and ending the night will be George Harris and the Memory Makers! Music will end around 10/10:30.

WE WILL HAVE A BAR, with gratefully recieved donations for drinks.

We have live preformance art from Blackburn based Oliver Blight, and an interactive preformance by feminist preston based and international touring artist Claire Doyle. She will be live printing her vagina in a parentally advised room. Once the vagina Moulds are dry you are invited to decorate and hang as part of our print exhibtion!

We will have a pray flag workshop from illustrator preston based artist Danielle Kyle throughout the night, you can add your prayer to our show! The next day she will also be doing prayer workshops for the children and it will be interesting to compare adult vs child. What do you pray for?

We have a gig, an exhibiton, a refurbed church (for those of you who have been to the bureau before) and also a bar with a workshop and interactive preformances. This is not a night to be missed!

Excited 🙂
