The ingredients from dinner times at Moor Nook Allotment

Pea soup: ingredients-

soaked marrowfat peas- overnight in bicarbonate

a small onion chopped

2 carrots finely chopped

Salt and pepper

ths method-

Put it all in a pan

Add water just to cover the ingredients

Bring it all to the boil and simmer

Add more water for desired thickness

 

Spiced sweet potato and parsnip soup: ingredients-

2 sweet potatos

1 parsnip

fresh Chili

fresh garlic 2 cloves

thyme, parsley, salt and pepper

water

the method-

Sauté all ingredients in chosen oil or butter

Add water and simmer

When soft slightly mash

Add salt and pepper

Parched peas: ingredients-

soak peas in hot water and bicarbonate soda overnight

rinse throughly

add water

bring to boil

simmer

when the peas split the pea soup is ready

vegetable broth

barley

1 carrot

1 leek

Half a swede

2 sticks celery

heart of a Savoy cabbage

The method-

chop all ingredients and saute in chosen oil or butter

Add water

Add barley

Bring to the boil

and simmer

add parsley, thyme, and salt and pepper
